Which sentence is written correctly?

  • Them are my favorite shoes.
  • Her and Ali sat together at lunch.
  • The teacher gave we a sticker.
  • She gave the books to them after class.Correct answer

Why “She gave the books to them after class.” is correct

This item tests pronouns. Subject pronouns (I, he, she, we, they) do the action, and object pronouns (me, him, her, us, them) receive it. Only the correct sentence uses each kind in the right place: she does the giving, and the books go to them.

Why the other answers are wrong

  • Them are my favorite shoes. — Them is an object pronoun; the sentence needs These or They.
  • Her and Ali sat together at lunch. — The subject needs She, not Her: “She and Ali sat together.”
  • The teacher gave we a sticker. — After gave, the sentence needs the object pronoun us, not we.
