Practice tools

Free tools for practicing listening, speaking, reading, and writing. They run in the browser, need no account, and are for practice only — none of them gives an official score.

Speaking recorder

Record, listen back, and get personalized feedback

Record spoken answers in your browser and play them back—no typing needed. Where supported, turn on automatic transcription to get AI feedback written for your answer: the rubric score it looks closest to, what went well, and what to work on. The feedback reads only the transcript, so it does not judge pronunciation or pace, and it is not an official TELPAS score — on the real test, speaking is scored against a rubric.

What it does

  • Recording and playback in the browser; recordings are not uploaded by this site
  • Optional live transcript (off unless you turn it on; in Chrome it sends audio to Google)
  • Personalized feedback on what you said, from the transcript only (the recording is never sent)
  • Scoring rubric and a sample response for each prompt

Writing workspace

Write, time yourself, and get personalized feedback

Write stories, explanations, and opinion pieces in a plain text editor. Keep an eye on your word count, use the optional timer, and ask for AI feedback written for your answer, then compare your writing with the rubric and a sample response.

What it does

  • Word count that updates as you type
  • Optional timer you can start and stop
  • Drafts saved in this browser so you can pick up where you left off
  • Personalized feedback when you ask for it: rubric points, strengths, next steps, and mistakes to fix

Listening audio player

Recorded audio with a written transcript

Every listening passage has recorded audio: classroom conversations, school announcements, stories, and short lessons. A written transcript sits under each one.

What it does

  • Recorded audio for every listening passage
  • Speaker labels in the transcript for conversations
  • Written transcript available under each passage
  • Controls that work on phones, tablets, and computers

Mixed practice test

Questions from every scored part, with a summary at the end

Work through a mix of multiple-choice questions from the scored parts of the test, one per page. See straight away whether each answer was right and why, then review a summary at the end.

What it does

  • One question per page with back and next buttons
  • Feedback after each answer explaining why choices are right or wrong
  • Answers saved in this browser, so you can stop and come back
  • Summary with a percentage and a breakdown by part
