Ms. Anderson: Good morning, seniors. This is Ms. Anderson from the counseling office.

Ms. Anderson: Next Tuesday at six p.m., we're holding a Financial Aid Night in the library. Representatives from two local colleges will explain how to apply for grants and scholarships, and they'll stay afterward to answer questions one-on-one.

Ms. Anderson: Please bring a parent or guardian with you. Many of the forms ask for information about your family's income, and it's much easier to fill them out when the person who has that information is sitting right next to you.

Ms. Anderson: Spanish and Vietnamese interpreters will be available. If your family needs a different language, stop by the counseling office by Friday so we can try to arrange one.

Why “To explain how to apply for money to pay for college” is correct

Why the other answers are wrong

  • To help seniors choose which college they will attend — College representatives will be there, but the topic is grants and scholarships.
  • To give seniors time to finish their college essays — Essays are not mentioned in the announcement.
  • To hire interpreters to work in the counseling office — Interpreters will help families at the event; no one is being hired.
