Fatima: Okay, the presentation on renewable energy is due Friday. I think we should split it up: you take wind, I take solar, and we each make our own slides.
Diego: That's faster, but last time we did it that way, the slides looked completely different and Mr. Ellison said it felt like two separate presentations.
Fatima: True. So what do you want to do?
Diego: We can still split the research. But let's make one template tonight, same fonts and colors, and then we each fill in our part. And we should write the introduction and conclusion together so it connects.
Fatima: Fine. Can you set up the template? I have work until nine.
Diego: Sure. I'll share it with you by eight.
The question
Choose the best answer.
Why does Diego want to change Fatima's first plan?
- He thinks Fatima's part on solar energy is too easy.
- He does not have enough time to make his own slides.
- He wants to change the topic of the presentation.
- He wants it to feel like one connected project.Correct answer
Why “He wants it to feel like one connected project.” is correct
This tests analyzing a speaker's reason. Diego refers to the teacher's past feedback that it 'felt like two separate presentations' and suggests a shared template and a joint introduction and conclusion. All of his changes point to making the work feel connected.
Why the other answers are wrong
- He thinks Fatima's part on solar energy is too easy. — He never comments on how hard each topic is.
- He does not have enough time to make his own slides. — He offers to do extra work tonight, so time is not his concern.
- He wants to change the topic of the presentation. — The topic stays renewable energy; only the method changes.
