Read this sentence from the sign. Thank you for helping keep our ducks healthy! What does healthy mean?

  • Hungry for more food
  • Well and not sickCorrect answer
  • Wet
  • Big and loud

Why “Well and not sick” is correct

The sign says bread is not good food for ducks, so not feeding them bread keeps them well. Healthy is a common word in school, in science and in lessons about food, so it is a useful word to know.

Why the other answers are wrong

  • Hungry for more food — The sign says the ducks find their own food, so it is not about keeping them hungry.
  • Wet — Ducks live in a pond and get wet, but healthy is not about being wet.
  • Big and loud — Healthy is not about size or noise.
