This sentence has an error. We go to the zoo last Saturday. Which sentence is written correctly?

  • We goed to the zoo last Saturday.
  • We going to the zoo last Saturday.
  • We went to the zoo last Saturday.Correct answer
  • We goes to the zoo last Saturday.

Why “We went to the zoo last Saturday.” is correct

"Last Saturday" means the trip already happened, so the verb needs the past tense. Go is irregular: its past tense is went, not goed. On the real test this kind of item may ask the student to type the whole sentence correctly.

Why the other answers are wrong

  • We goed to the zoo last Saturday. — Goed is not a word. Go changes to went in the past.
  • We going to the zoo last Saturday. — "We going" is missing a helping word, and it does not show the past.
  • We goes to the zoo last Saturday. — Goes is used with one person, like he or she, and it is not past tense.
