- By ThursdayCorrect answer
- By Friday
- By next week
Why “By Thursday” is correct
This tests catching a detail in an announcement that mentions several days. Today is Wednesday, the trip is Friday, and the slips are due “by Thursday.” The student must match the right day to the right event.
Why the other answers are wrong
- By Wednesday — Wednesday is today, the day of the announcement.
- By Friday — Friday is the day of the field trip, too late to turn in the slip.
- By next week — Next week is never mentioned.
