The question
Choose the best answer.
Which thing is the teacher talking about?
- A pillow
- A towel
- A blanketCorrect answer
- A jacket
Why “A blanket” is correct
This tests understanding a spoken description of an object. The teacher gives three clues: it keeps you warm in bed, it is big and soft, and you pull it up over your body. Only a blanket fits all three. On the real test the student would click a picture; here the pictures are named in words.
Why the other answers are wrong
- A pillow — A pillow is soft and used in bed, but you rest your head on it; you do not pull it over your body.
- A towel — A towel is for drying off, not for keeping warm in bed.
- A jacket — A jacket keeps you warm, but you wear it, usually outside; you do not pull it over you in bed.
