The question
Choose the best answer.
Read the sentence. Last night, my dad maked tacos for the whole family. Which word in the sentence has an error?
- Last
- makedCorrect answer
- tacos
- whole
Why “maked” is correct
This is like the first part of a two-part item: find the error before fixing it. Make is an irregular verb, so its past tense is made, not maked. Ask the student to also say the fix out loud, since the real test then asks them to type it.
Why the other answers are wrong
- Last — Last night is correct; it tells when the action happened.
- tacos — Tacos is the correct plural of taco.
- whole — Whole is spelled correctly and is used correctly.
