The question
Choose the best answer.
Read the sentence. The underlined word has an error. Tomorrow our class [visited] the science museum. Which choice should replace the underlined word?
- visit
- visiting
- has visited
- will visitCorrect answer
Why “will visit” is correct
This tests verb tense. "Tomorrow" tells us the action has not happened yet, so the verb must show the future: will visit. "Visited" is past tense. Time words such as yesterday, today, and tomorrow are the best clues for choosing the tense.
Why the other answers are wrong
- visit — "Our class" is one group, so "visit" without -s does not match it, and it does not show the future clearly.
- visiting — "Visiting" needs a helping verb, such as "is visiting."
- has visited — "Has visited" tells about something that already happened.
