The question
Choose the best answer.
Sofia is 11 years old. She has soccer practice every Tuesday and Thursday evening, and she wants a free class. Which class should she choose?
- Swim Skills
- Cooking Basics
- Beginning Guitar
- Chess ClubCorrect answer
Why “Chess Club” is correct
This asks the student to apply several facts from the flyer at once: age, day, and cost. Two classes are free, but one of them conflicts with her soccer practice. Only Chess Club fits all three of Sofia's needs. Problems like this check whether a reader can use a document, not just find one fact.
Why the other answers are wrong
- Swim Skills — Swim Skills is free, but it meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays, when she has soccer.
- Cooking Basics — Cooking is for ages 12 to 17, and it costs $15.
- Beginning Guitar — Guitar costs $20, so it is not free.
