The question

Choose the best answer.

What does the teacher want you to click on?

  • Glue stick
  • Ruler
  • ScissorsCorrect answer
  • Crayon

Why “Scissors” is correct

This checks whether the student understands a spoken description of what an object is used for. The teacher never says the word "scissors"; she says "the thing you use to cut paper." On the real test the choices are pictures, so it helps to ask the student what each object is for.

Why the other answers are wrong

  • Glue stick — A glue stick sticks paper together. It does not cut.
  • Ruler — A ruler measures and draws straight lines. It does not cut.
  • Crayon — A crayon is for coloring, not cutting.
