Roadrunners
The roadrunner is a bird that lives in Texas and other warm, dry places. It has long legs, a long tail, and feathers on its head that can stand up.
A roadrunner can fly, but only for a short time. It would rather run! It can run faster than most people.
Roadrunners eat bugs, lizards, and even small snakes. They catch their food by running after it.

Why “Bugs and lizards” is correct
The last paragraph says roadrunners eat bugs, lizards, and even small snakes. The student has to find that sentence and match two of the foods it names.
Why the other answers are wrong
- Grass and leaves — The passage lists only animals as the roadrunner's food, not plants.
- Fish from the ocean — The ocean is not mentioned. Roadrunners live in warm, dry places.
- Nuts from trees — Nuts are not mentioned in the passage.
