The question
Choose the best answer.
This sentence has an error. Where is my red hat. Which sentence is written correctly?
- where is my red hat?
- Where is my red hat?Correct answer
- Where is my red hat,
- Where? is my red hat.
Why “Where is my red hat?” is correct
This sentence asks something, so it is a question, and a question ends with a question mark. Words like where, what, who and when at the start are a clue. Choice b also keeps the capital letter at the start.
Why the other answers are wrong
- where is my red hat? — The question mark is right, but the sentence must start with a capital W.
- Where is my red hat, — A comma cannot end a sentence.
- Where? is my red hat. — The question mark goes at the end of the sentence, not after the first word.
