Coach Salinas: Hi, everyone, this is Coach Salinas. Our after-school running club starts again next week. We will meet every Tuesday and Thursday, from three-thirty to four-thirty, on the track behind the gym.

Coach Salinas: You do not have to be fast to join. We will build up a little at a time, and by the end of the semester, the goal is for everyone to run a full mile without stopping.

Coach Salinas: Before your first practice, you need to return the green permission form, signed by a parent. You can pick one up in the front office. And please wear running shoes, not sandals or boots. That rule keeps your feet safe on the track.

Choose the best answer.

When does the running club meet?

  • Every morning, before school starts
  • Mondays and Wednesdays, after school
  • Thursdays only, during lunchtime
  • Tuesdays and Thursdays, after schoolCorrect answer

Why “Tuesdays and Thursdays, after school” is correct

This tests a basic detail in an announcement. Coach Salinas says the club meets "every Tuesday and Thursday, from three-thirty to four-thirty." A student should also hear "after-school running club" at the start. The wrong choices change either the days or the time of day.

Why the other answers are wrong

  • Every morning, before school starts — Coach Salinas says it is an after-school club, not a morning one.
  • Mondays and Wednesdays, after school — He names Tuesday and Thursday, not Monday and Wednesday.
  • Thursdays only, during lunchtime — The club meets on two days, and not at lunch.
