Which dog should you click on?

  • A dog sitting behind one tree
  • A dog sitting between two treesCorrect answer
  • A dog sitting in front of two trees
  • A dog lying next to one tree

Why “A dog sitting between two trees” is correct

This checks whether the student understands a position word. "Between" means there is a tree on each side of the dog. All four choices show a dog near trees, so the student has to listen for the exact word rather than just "dog" and "trees." Practicing words like between, behind, in front of and next to with real objects at home helps.

Why the other answers are wrong

  • A dog sitting behind one tree — "Behind" is a different place, and there is only one tree here. The direction says two trees.
  • A dog sitting in front of two trees — There are two trees, but "in front of" is not the same as "between."
  • A dog lying next to one tree — "Next to" one tree is not between two trees, and the dog in the direction is sitting, not lying down.
