Which picture matches what the teacher said?

  • A cat sleeping on top of a table
  • A cat sleeping under a table, beside a chairCorrect answer
  • A cat sleeping under a chair, beside a table
  • A cat sitting next to a table and eating its food

Why “A cat sleeping under a table, beside a chair” is correct

This tests position words like under and next to. The cat must be under the table and next to a chair, and it must be sleeping. Choice c mixes up the table and the chair, so the student has to listen to which word goes with which.

Why the other answers are wrong

  • A cat sleeping on top of a table — The teacher said under the table, not on top of it.
  • A cat sleeping under a chair, beside a table — This switches the table and the chair; the cat is under the table.
  • A cat sitting next to a table and eating its food — The teacher said the cat is sleeping, not eating.
