Why “The weather is wet outside.” is correct
The reason is given in the teacher's first sentence: it is raining. The correct choice says the same thing in different words ("wet outside"), so the student has to understand the meaning, not just match a word.
Why the other answers are wrong
- The playground is closed for painting. — The teacher does not say anything about painting the playground.
- It is too hot outside. — Heat is not the reason. The teacher says it is raining.
- The class needs to finish work. — Recess is still happening, just inside. No work is mentioned.
