Gloria's grandpa grows tomatoes in his backyard.
Every morning before school, Gloria fills the watering can and helps him water the plants.
For a long time, the tomatoes were small and green. Then one morning, Gloria saw that they were big and red.
"Are they ready now?" she asked. Grandpa smiled and handed her a basket.
That night, they made salsa together for dinner.
The question
Choose the best answer.
What does Gloria do every morning before school?
- She picks tomatoes.
- She helps water the plants.Correct answer
- She makes salsa.
- She buys tomatoes at the store.
Why “She helps water the plants.” is correct
The story names three things Gloria does: water the plants, pick tomatoes, and make salsa. Only watering happens every morning. The student needs to catch the time words "every morning" and connect them to the right action.
Why the other answers are wrong
- She picks tomatoes. — Gloria picks the tomatoes only once, when they turn red.
- She makes salsa. — They make salsa one night at the end of the story.
- She buys tomatoes at the store. — The tomatoes grow in Grandpa's backyard. No one goes to a store.
